Spotobe Launches
Spotobe (pronounced “spa-tah-be”), a project I’ve been involved with at work officially launched last week. The site contains information about events and locations in Central Pennsylvania. It’s great for when you’re trying to figure out what to do this weekend or when you have a relative that’s coming for a visit and you need to know what local attractions you could check out. Eventually, the scope of the site will expand to other regions of the state and nation.

Where are the events aggregated from? Can they be user-generated? Also, just wondering, did you guys use OpenSocial for it?
Rich, events and locations were initially entered by our team, but now they’re being entered by partners. They also go through an edit and approval process. User generated, coming soon, and OpenSocial is also on the docket for next phase! We’ll also hopefully be integrating other local bloggers on the site at some point in the future.
